You can start right away. What you need: workable English for the SAFe terminology, which stays English throughout. Helpful: experience in an agile team, with Scrum for example.

Leading SAFe® Course in Detail

Scaled Agile splits Leading SAFe into six lessons. The course starts at the reason for an adoption, lays down mindset and principles as the foundation, moves through team and technical agility to product development flow, and closes on the portfolio and on leading the change.

Scaled Agile issues the SAFe Agilist as a PDF and as a digital badge for your online profiles. This certification has to be renewed. The first year is included in the course price, and renewal with Scaled Agile costs USD 195 per year after that.

After the course the exam waits in your SAFe Studio account and is administered online by Scaled Agile rather than by tecnovy. Scaled Agile offers the exam in several languages, German among them. The exam language has to match the language you completed the course in.

Frequently asked questions

01Can I look things up in the SAFe Framework during the SAFe Agilist exam?

No. Scaled Agile runs the exam closed book and names the Big Picture specifically as material you may not use. Notes, published material and help from another person are all excluded.

02Do I need prior knowledge for Leading SAFe?

No, Scaled Agile sets no formal admission requirements for the SAFe Agilist certification. Experience in an agile team helps you place the examples in the tecnovy training more quickly.

03Is Leading SAFe the right SAFe course for me?

Leading SAFe fits if you own or influence the decision to adopt SAFe. If you will be working inside a team on an Agile Release Train, SAFe for Teams is the better starting point.

04What happens if I do not pass the SAFe Agilist exam?

The tecnovy course price covers two exam attempts, as long as you use them within 60 days of the course ending. Every further attempt costs USD 50 with Scaled Agile.

05Does my SAFe Agilist certification expire?

Yes, it has to be renewed, and that first year is included in the tecnovy course price. To renew it afterwards Scaled Agile charges USD 195 plus 12 continuing education units every year. Your SAFe Studio membership renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the cycle ends.

06Is the SAFe Agilist certification valid worldwide?

Yes, Scaled Agile awards the certification to the same rules worldwide, and tecnovy is a Scaled Agile Partner. You can attach the digital badge to LinkedIn and other profiles directly.

07What material do I get in the Leading SAFe training?

You get the course material in digital form and keep it permanently. Every flipchart worked out during the tecnovy training reaches you afterwards as a photo protocol.
