iSAQB stands for International Software Architecture Qualification Board. The association develops the CPSA syllabi for software architecture and defines which competencies are taught and assessed at Foundation Level and Advanced Level.
The certification program is called CPSA, Certified Professional for Software Architecture. CPSA-F is the entry point into the fundamentals of software architecture. CPSA-A is the Advanced path for experienced software architects who want to demonstrate their competencies through modules and credit points.
iSAQB itself does not provide training or conduct exams. Accredited training providers such as tecnovy prepare you for certification. The CPSA exam is handled separately through our certification partner Brightest.

The entire planning of the training went smoothly. In the current climate, this cannot be taken for granted and also speaks well of tecnovy. Our in-house DDD training was conducted remotely with excellent organization and structure.
The courses I attended, iSAQB EAM and CLOUDINFRA, were delivered by highly competent trainers. The content was very good, the teaching was informative, and questions were addressed immediately. My expectations were fully met.
Gernot Starke made the remote training highly interactive and pleasant. The fact that he introduced himself by video before the training already indicated this. You can immediately tell what a wealth of experience and knowledge he has. It was truly a great experience.
iSAQB stands for International Software Architecture Qualification Board. The board defines standards for the education and further training of software architects and creates the curricula for the CPSA programme. If you want to go deeper, read our guide: What is iSAQB?
CPSA stands for Certified Professional for Software Architecture. The programme has two active tiers: CPSA-F (Foundation) as the entry point and CPSA-A (Advanced) for specialisation via credit points.
If you are new to software architecture, start with CPSA-F. It is the mandatory prerequisite for everything else. If you already hold CPSA-F, the Advanced modules are the next step. Choose them based on your role and collect credit points for the CPSA-A exam.
Each Advanced module grants a fixed number of credit points in three areas: methodical (M), technical (T), and communicative (K). Plan modules so that you reach at least 10 in each area and at least 70 in total. A minimum of 3 modules is required. The credit-point planner higher up on the page helps.
The CPSA-F exam is multiple-choice, around 75 minutes, conducted by iSQI or CertiBO. The CPSA-A exam consists of a written paper on a real architecture topic and an oral examination by video call.
CPSA-F and CPSA-A certificates are valid indefinitely. No renewal required. iSAQB updates the curricula regularly; existing certificates remain recognised.
Yes, especially for developers, tech leads, and software architects who want to make, document, and communicate architecture decisions better. Established across the DACH region and recognised by large companies as proof of qualification.
