What is ISTQB?
ISTQB stands for International Software Testing Qualifications Board: founded in 2002, today the world's most widely adopted software-testing certification scheme. Over 60 national Member Boards (in the DACH region: German, Austrian, and Swiss Testing Boards) develop the curricula, accredit training providers, and ensure cross-border comparability.
The Certified Tester Scheme is multi-tiered. CTFL is the foundation: concepts, testing principles, test activities, test design, defect reports, test management, tools. Advanced Level Test Management deepens test strategy, risk management, estimation, and team leadership. Specialist certifications like CT-AI and CT-GenAI focus on testing AI-based systems and Generative AI in testing.
The roles are cleanly separated: ISTQB defines the scheme and curricula. Training providers like tecnovy run the courses. The independent Exam Provider Brightest examines and issues certificates. Your trainer does not examine you.

Yes, when the specific session is offered as an online format - that is shown on the session itself. For teams we also plan inhouse training.

08 What happens if I do not pass the exam?
At tecnovy the certification guarantee applies: if you fail, you get a free online retake. Condition: take the first exam within 24 hours of the training ending, so the material stays fresh and the risk does not sit with you.
