The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) course offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles and methods of software testing. The course covers topics such as testing concepts, testing processes, test management, and test tools. Participants will learn how to plan, design, execute, and evaluate tests. The training prepares for the internationally recognized ISTQB Foundation Level certification and enables entry into a professional career in software testing.
This training is officially accredited and aligns with the current syllabus for CTFL v4.0. It is designed to prepare participants thoroughly for the exam, which can be taken online and results in an official ISTQB certificate. The curriculum provides a comprehensive understanding of the terminology and concepts used worldwide in the field of testing. It is relevant to all software delivery approaches and practices, including Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery.
The CTFL certification is a prerequisite for all further ISTQB certifications that require the Foundation Level.
Globally Recognized Qualification: The ISTQB certification is recognized worldwide and is considered one of the most important qualifications in software testing. According to ISTQB data, there are over 700,000 certified testers globally (as of 2023).
Improved Career Opportunities: An ISTQB certification increases job opportunities by 40%. Employers prefer certified testers because they demonstrably possess the necessary knowledge and skills.
Higher Salary: Certified testers earn, on average, 20% more than their non-certified colleagues. This salary increase reflects the value employers place on the additional qualification and expertise gained.
Knowledge Growth and Confidence: Participants report a significant increase in their expertise and confidence after certification. A survey found that 92% of ISTQB-certified testers believe that the certification demonstrates and recognizes their professional competence (Source: ASTQB U.S.).
The ISTQB CTFL curriculum forms the basis for the international qualification in software testing at Foundation Level. The course is divided into six modules:
The exam lasts 60 minutes and consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. To pass the exam, a minimum of 26 out of 40 points must be achieved, which is 65% of the maximum score of 40 points. No aids are allowed during the exam, meaning all necessary knowledge and skills must be learned in advance.
The exam is taken online following the training and is available in both German and English. Successfully passing this exam confirms the fundamental knowledge and skills in software testing and opens up the possibility of obtaining advanced and specialized certifications in the field of software testing.
