Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop

Most leadership models end up on a wall poster. Management 3.0 hands you tools you can use on the Monday afterwards instead: Delegation Poker settles who is allowed to decide what, Moving Motivators makes visible what actually drives each person, Personal Maps open conversations that otherwise never happen. For two days you practise them on cases from your own team, not on worked examples out of a textbook.

What this module delivers.

Leadership cannot be mandated, but the tools for it can be practised. In the Foundation Workshop you work with Delegation Poker, Moving Motivators and Personal Maps on real cases. Your team then has clear decision boundaries.

Fit

Who this module is designed for

Typical roles

  • You make decisions for a team and notice that too many of them land on your desk.
  • You are expected to create motivation with nothing but salary and job titles as tools.
  • You support an agile transition and want practices rather than another framework.

Prerequisites

No prerequisites

You can start right away. Helpful: responsibility for a team or an initiative, a team or leadership situation of your own to work on.

Consider instead Advanced Level · Management 3.0 - Agile Team Leadership Schulung Fits better if you already hold the Foundation Certificate of Attendance and want to work specifically on team dynamics and feedback.

Curriculum

Contents of the Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop

The workshop follows the nine topics of the official Foundation curriculum. The first three build the thinking model, the six after them are the perspectives Management 3.0 takes on organisations. Each comes with at least one practice you play through during the course.

01Management and Leadership

The opening separates two terms that get mixed up constantly in daily work.

  • What management delivers and what leadership does not cover of it
  • Why anyone on the team can lead, not only the manager
  • Where the boundaries of your own role actually run
02Management 3.0 Principles

The principles every later practice derives from.

  • People first, processes after
  • Improvement as continuous work rather than as a finished project
  • Why copying other organisations' operating models rarely works
  • The manager's role as a gardener rather than as a designer
03Complexity Thinking

The part that explains why cause and effect come apart in organisations.

  • Telling complicated from complex, and what that means for planning
  • Systems that respond to interventions differently than expected
  • Experiments instead of forecasts as the consequence
04Energize People

Motivation as something you can survey rather than guess at.

  • Telling intrinsic and extrinsic motivation apart
  • Moving Motivators: laying out and comparing the ten drivers in the team
  • Kudo Cards as recognition that need not come from above
  • Personal Maps, to get to know colleagues beyond their role
05Empower Teams

Delegation as a scale, not a switch between all and nothing.

  • The seven levels of delegation and what they mean in practice
  • Delegation Poker on real decisions from your daily work
  • Delegation Boards that keep the state visible to everyone
  • Trust and control as two dials rather than as opposites
06Align Constraints

Setting values and goals so they actually steer decisions.

  • Deriving values from behaviour instead of announcing them
  • Purpose and the boundaries inside which a team acts freely
  • Value Stories that pin a value to a concrete case
07Develop Competence

Building competence as a visible structure rather than an annual review.

  • Team Competency Matrix: mapping skills and gaps in the team
  • Feedback Wraps that separate observation, effect and request
  • Learning paths that fit the work rather than the training catalogue
08Grow Structure

Structure as something that grows with you rather than drawn once.

  • How team size and shape limit communication
  • The Meddlers Game, to play through structural options
  • Weighing specialisation against generalisation
  • Scaling without lengthening the decision paths
09Improve Everything

The closing part turns the practices into an approach to change.

  • Setting up change as an experiment with a checkable assumption
  • Celebration Grids, to learn from success and failure alike
  • The Happiness Door as fast feedback during live operation
  • What you try first on the Monday after the workshop

Outcome

What you will be able to do afterwards

  1. 01

You use Delegation Poker to set which decisions sit at which level in the team.

  2. 02

You use Moving Motivators to establish what drives individuals, and derive measures from it.

  3. 03

You phrase team values so they can be checked day to day rather than only displayed.

  4. 04

You map team competences in a matrix and identify the gaps in it.

  5. 05

You assess organisational structures by how well they carry communication between teams.

  6. 06

You give feedback with Feedback Wraps that separates an observation from a judgement.

  7. 07

You plan changes as small experiments with a checkable assumption.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

01Is there an examination at the end?
No. Management 3.0 runs no examination in any workshop. The scheme's reasoning: knowledge tests do not capture complex leadership topics. Attendance is what counts instead, and anyone wanting to evidence the material collects their own experiments through the Certificate of Practice.
02How do I get the Certificate of Attendance?
Management 3.0 issues the certificate, not tecnovy. After the training you complete a short online evaluation; once you and the licensed facilitator have both confirmed it, it arrives by email. It names the Foundation Workshop specifically.
03How long is the Management 3.0 certificate valid?
Management 3.0 states neither an expiry date nor a recertification for the Certificate of Attendance. Something else is time limited: anyone wanting to be licensed as a Management 3.0 Facilitator applies within two years of the workshop, extendable to four.
04Do I need prior knowledge for the Foundation Workshop?
No. Management 3.0 lists no admission conditions for the Foundation Workshop. The one useful thing is to bring a team or leadership situation of your own, so you can try the practices on it during the tecnovy training.
05Can I run Management 3.0 workshops myself afterwards?
The Foundation Workshop makes you eligible to apply for the facilitator licence, but it is not the only route there: Management 3.0 equally accepts the Agility in HR Workshop or a Certificate of Practice. You can apply within two years, extendable to four.
06What is the Certificate of Practice?
A second Management 3.0 credential earned without a workshop: you try at least seven practices in your daily work, submit your findings and receive the certificate once Management 3.0 has approved them. It carries a fee, and Management 3.0 counts it as one of the three ways into the advanced workshops. The process is currently on hold.
07What materials do I receive?
You receive the training materials as a PDF plus a photo record of the flipcharts created during the tecnovy training, including your completed delegation boards and the Moving Motivators layouts from your team.
08Which workshop comes after Foundation?
Management 3.0 offers two advanced workshops, which tecnovy also delivers: Agile Team Leadership goes deeper on teams, feedback and happiness, Agile Change Leadership on change, measuring success and OKRs. Both require one of the three Management 3.0 credentials, of which this certificate is one.
