AI-Native Foundations for Developers: What to Expect
AI is not just changing which tools developers use. It is changing how software development works at a fundamental level. Requirements are increasingly processed by AI agents, code is written, tested, and reviewed with AI assistance, and the developer role is shifting from writing code to steering and evaluating AI output. Understanding this shift puts you ahead of it.
The AI-Native Foundations for Developers training from Scaled Agile, Inc. gives you a clear foundation for this new reality. The first four parts of the training cover the key AI concepts: Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents, and the EDGE framework. You practise effective prompting and redesign one of your own workflows with AI. This core content is identical to the standard AI-Native Foundations training.
What makes this training specific to developers are two additional hands-on modules. In the first, a live demo shows you how multiple AI agents work together to process a requirement end to end: writing code, testing it, and refining it. You reflect on what this means for your own role. In the second, you build a simple AI agent in a practical exercise and learn the basics of agent-based development.
The training is designed for software developers at all experience levels. No prior AI knowledge is required. Practical programming experience is helpful for the developer modules but not a prerequisite.

AI-Native Foundations Exam & Certificate
The AI-Native Foundations for Developers training prepares you for the same AI-Native Foundations exam from Scaled Agile, Inc. as the standard training. The exam consists of 45 timed multiple-choice questions. As a course participant, you receive perpetual access to the course workbook, a companion app, and online learning materials. After the exam, you receive a personalised coaching report that shows your strengths and where you can develop further.
If you pass, you earn the title Certified AI-Native Foundations Professional. The credential is renewed annually and is recognised globally. You also receive a digital badge to share on LinkedIn and other platforms.
