IREB® Practitioner Requirements Management

Requirements change during projects. Strong requirements management supports control of cost, time, and quality. The CPRE Requirements Management module teaches techniques for managing requirements and requirement changes, plus reporting in Requirements Engineering.

You build practical skills in version and change management, traceability, variant management, and tool support. The module covers reporting and management of Requirements Engineering processes, with content for agile and traditional development.

The module targets people working in Requirements Engineering, Business Analysis, system and software development, project work, and release planning.

After the training you can apply requirements management practices in real projects and handle changes in a controlled way. You strengthen your understanding of roles and management types in requirements management and show knowledge of processes for structuring, improving, and implementing changes.

After the course you can…

• structure requirements, add attributes, and use practical views

• evaluate and prioritize requirements based on goals and stakeholders

• control changes and versions with a clear change request flow

• use traceability to make dependencies and impacts visible

• use reporting to communicate status and decisions clearly

To earn the certification you pass the IREB CPRE Advanced Level Requirements Management Practitioner exam. The exam has about 45 multiple choice questions and a 75 minute time limit. Non-native speakers can request a 15 minute extension. The minimum score is 70%.

Entry requirement is an IREB CPRE Foundation Level certificate or the BCS Requirements Engineering certification. Training is not mandatory, yet it is recommended.

Next step option: the Specialist level uses a written assignment in a realistic project context.
