AI for Product Owners Course in Detail

Four parts on one sample product: discovery, backlog work and communication with AI as a tool, and finally AI as a possible feature of the product itself. In each part the AI drafts, and you check and decide before a result goes into the Product Backlog or to stakeholders.

01Who decides when AI drafts backlog items?
You do, as the Product Owner. The Scrum Guide 2020 makes the Product Owner accountable for maximising the value of the product and lets them delegate Product Backlog work to others while remaining accountable. In the tecnovy AI for Product Owners training you treat AI drafts by the same principle: the AI proposes, and you set the order of the Product Backlog.
02Do I need technical knowledge for AI for Product Owners?
No, the tecnovy AI for Product Owners training assumes no programming knowledge. You should bring experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role, because the exercises take backlog work and stakeholder alignment as familiar.
03Is it only about AI as a tool, or also about AI in my own product?
Both. In the final part of the tecnovy AI for Product Owners training you assess whether an AI feature would benefit your product and write requirements for it covering quality, cost, risks and regulation that your team can plan with.
04May I enter real user feedback into an AI tool?
That depends on whether your company has approved the tool for such data and whether there is a legal basis under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for any personal data. The exercises in the tecnovy AI for Product Owners training run on a sample product; for feedback from your own users, take doubtful cases to your data protection officer.
05Does AI for Product Owners lead to a Scrum.org certification?
No, the tecnovy AI for Product Owners training is not a Scrum.org class and leads to no certification. Scrum.org awards PSPO I and PSPO-AI Essentials only on passing its assessment: 80 or 40 questions respectively in 60 minutes, with a pass mark of 85% for both (as of November 2026).
06How does AI for Product Owners differ from AI for Product Managers?
The tecnovy AI for Product Owners training works on a Scrum Team's Product Backlog: discovery, user stories, ordering and communication. AI for Product Managers covers AI opportunities in the product, the business case, specification, and the rollout and measurement of AI features.
07What do I need for the exercises in AI for Product Owners?
For the exercises in the tecnovy AI for Product Owners training you need access to an AI assistant that produces, summarises and revises text. The backlog, user feedback and stakeholders come from the training's sample product.
08What do I receive at the end of AI for Product Owners?
With at least 80 percent attendance, tecnovy issues you a certificate of participation for AI for Product Owners. It confirms that you took part; the training involves no examination and no certification.
09Where do I go after AI for Product Owners?
