You check every result against the code and the requirements. Designing systems that contain AI components is the subject of AI Solution Architecture and of the iSAQB module SWARC4AI.

You can start right away. What you need: experience in software architecture. Helpful: basic experience with an AI assistant.

Consider instead AI Solution Architecture If you want to design the architecture of an AI solution: patterns such as RAG, build versus buy, and connecting to enterprise data and systems.

Curriculum

AI for Software Architects in Detail

Four parts follow the tasks that come up in architecture work: understanding an existing system, clarifying requirements and quality goals, preparing decisions, and documenting and communicating. In each part you apply AI to the same sample system and check what it produces.

01Understanding existing systems

This part shows how AI helps you get to grips with a system you did not build yourself.

02Requirements and quality goals

Here you use AI to clarify what the system must achieve before anything is decided.

  • Working out and reviewing quality scenarios with AI: concrete, testable descriptions of a quality requirement
  • Spotting contradictions and gaps in requirements
03Preparing decisions

This part turns options into a reasoned decision paper.

  • Working out options and their trade-offs with AI: what an option gains and what it costs
  • Documenting architecture decisions
04Documenting and communicating

Finally you keep the architecture documentation current with AI and explain it to others.

No, in the tecnovy training AI for Software Architects AI is a tool for your own architecture work, not part of the system you design. The architecture of AI solutions in the enterprise is the subject of the tecnovy course AI Solution Architecture.

SWARC4AI is an iSAQB Advanced Level training module on software architecture for AI systems, and its credit points count toward admission to CPSA-A certification. AI for Software Architects is a tecnovy course without credit points in which you use AI for your own architecture work.

The tecnovy training AI for Software Architects works with common AI assistants and coding agents, meaning AI tools that read and edit a project's files on their own. In an in-house training these can be the tools your organisation has approved.
04Can I rely on what the AI produces?
Not without checking: AI output can be incomplete or wrong. That is why in tecnovy's AI for Software Architects you check every result against the code, documentation and requirements of the sample system.
