IT training across Europe - tecnovy makes you future-ready.

tecnovy AI AI in Requirements Engineering

Requirements documents, acceptance criteria, review records: these are the artefacts where AI changes daily work first. In one day you work with language models and analysis tools on real requirements, check them for contradictions and gaps, and learn where the output holds up and where you have to verify it yourself. You practise on current market tools, preferably on a document from a project of your own.

Fit

Who this module is designed for

Typical roles

  • You elicit requirements and document them for development and test.
  • You review requirements for completeness, contradictions and testability.
  • You coordinate requirements between the business, development and test.

Prerequisites

No prerequisites

You can start right away. Helpful: a working knowledge of requirements engineering from project work, a requirements document of your own to practise on.

Consider instead AI Practice and Management Two days of AI foundations and the EU AI Act, independent of any one professional role.

Curriculum

AI in Requirements Engineering Course in Detail

Five blocks in one day: introduction, tools, use cases, limits and outlook. Each short input is followed by an exercise on real requirements, so that you leave with an approach you have actually tried.

01Introduction to AI in requirements engineering

The opening block settles the vocabulary the rest of the day uses.

  • What language models can do, and what they only appear to do
  • Where AI enters the requirements process, from elicitation to acceptance
  • Prompting as a craft rather than a lucky hit
02AI tools and technologies

This part introduces the classes of tool and places them.

  • Language models, analysis tools and documentation tools compared
  • Selection criteria that hold regardless of vendor
  • Fitting them into existing toolchains and templates
03AI use cases in requirements engineering

The longest block: this is where you work on real requirements.

  • Analysing, grouping and prioritising requirements
  • Consistency checking: surfacing contradictions and gaps
  • Producing, updating and preparing documents for review
  • Supporting coordination and feedback in the project team
04Limits, risks and ethical considerations

This part draws the line beyond which you have to decide yourself.

  • Recognising and checking fabricated output
  • Data protection and confidentiality with real project content
  • Traceability: who was accountable for which requirement
05The future of AI in requirements engineering

The closing block turns the view back on your own practice.

  • Developments in tools and ways of working that are already visible
  • Which skills become more important in the role
  • First steps for your own process after the training

Outcome

What you will be able to do afterwards

  1. 01

You name the steps in your requirements process where AI measurably helps.

  2. 02

You analyse and prioritise requirements with AI tools and verify the output yourself.

  3. 03

You surface contradictions and gaps in requirements using AI-assisted consistency checks.

  4. 04

You produce and update requirements documents faster with AI support.

  5. 05

You write prompts that give reproducible results for requirements work.

  6. 06

You assess data protection, transparency and traceability when using AI in a project.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

01Is there an examination or certification?
No. The tecnovy AI in Requirements Engineering training ends without an examination and leads to no certification. You receive a certificate of participation covering the topics addressed.
02Is the training part of the IREB CPRE programme?
No. It is a standalone tecnovy training and awards no CPRE credits. It builds on established requirements engineering practice but replaces no CPRE module.
03Which AI tools are used?
Current tools: language models, analysis tools and tools for automated documentation. The exercises are built so that you can transfer the approach to whichever tools your organisation uses.
04Is the training suitable if I am new to AI?
Yes. The tecnovy training introduces the basics, prompting and the usual tools in plain terms. No prior knowledge of AI or prompting is required.
05Does AI replace the requirements engineering role?
No. AI takes over routine steps such as rewording, comparing and summarising. The professional judgement of which requirement stands remains yours, and that boundary is exactly what the training practises.
06May I put real project requirements into an AI tool?
That depends on your contract with the provider and your data protection clearance. The training covers which questions have to be settled first and how to work with sensitive content without exposing it.
07How hands-on is the day?
Every input is followed by an exercise on real requirements. You work either on documents you bring with you or on the case examples supplied.
