01Day 1: Visualising Data
You build the foundation here: you see how people perceive visual information and translate your data into charts that hold up.
- Visualisation as a communication tool and key principles of visual perception
- Chart types: which type fits which kind of data and which analytical goal
- Visual encoding: translating data correctly into shape, size, position and colour
- Accessibility, inclusive design and hands-on practice with industry standard tools
02Day 2: Telling Stories with Data
Now it is all about impact: you use colour with intent, spot the stories in your data and tell them in a way your audience listens to.
- Colour and maps: using colour with purpose, presenting spatial data the right way
- Unconventional visualisations: when unusual formats make sense
- Ethics and responsibility: spotting and avoiding misleading or manipulative charts
