Creative AI Design

Between a blank brief and a concept you can present lie many steps: gathering ideas, narrowing variants, settling on a style, visualising it as a moodboard or prototype. In this workshop you take them with language models, the AI that reads and writes text, and with image AI. The AI supplies range. Which idea holds up, whether a draft fits the brand and whether you may use it are decisions you make at every stage.

Curriculum

Creative AI Design Course in Detail

Five parts lead from an empty brief to a concept you can present: what language models and image AI contribute creatively, how ideas and concepts take shape, and how you visualise them and keep them on brand. The last part covers copyright, usage rights and labelling.

01AI as a creative partner

This part sets out what language models and image AI contribute to the creative process, and where they do not.

  • How language models produce text and image AI produces pictures
  • Where the creative limits of AI lie
  • Divergent thinking: opening many directions with AI
  • Convergent thinking: selecting and narrowing down
02Developing ideas and concepts

Here a task turns into a set of concepts to choose from.

  • Brainstorming and shifting perspective with AI
  • Developing and comparing concept variants
  • Personas and customer journeys: typical customers and their touchpoints with a brand
  • Storytelling for a concept
03Visualising

In this part ideas get an image and a form you can show.

  • Moodboards: image collections that capture a mood
  • Style directions and image ideas with image AI
  • Simple interactive prototypes with AI
  • Presenting a concept with AI
04Staying on brand

This part makes sure AI results look and sound like your brand.

  • Tone and style as a brief for the AI
  • Checking results against that brief
  • Your own templates for recurring tasks
  • Style guides for AI
05Law and responsibility

Finally you work out what is checked before an AI result is used.

  • Copyright in AI content under German law
  • Usage rights and the tools' terms of use
  • Labelling and transparency under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, applicable since 2 August 2026

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

01Who decides which AI idea goes forward?
You do: in the tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop the AI supplies variants, while selecting, combining and discarding stay with you and your team. You practise this in two phases, opening many directions with AI (divergent) and narrowing to the viable ones (convergent).
02Do I need design skills for Creative AI Design?
No, the tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop assumes neither design nor technical skills and suits writing as much as visual design. Experience with an AI assistant helps but is not a condition.
03Which AI tools does Creative AI Design use?
The exercises in the tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop need two kinds of tool: an AI assistant built on a language model for text, and an image AI that creates pictures from descriptions. In the in-house format you work with the tools your organisation has approved.
04May we use AI images commercially?
What you may do with an AI image is set first by the terms of use of the tool that produced it. On top of that, German copyright law protects a work only if it is a personal intellectual creation (Section 2(2) of the German Copyright Act, UrhG), and whether an AI image qualifies depends on the case. The tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop shows you what to check before use; it is not legal advice.
05Do I have to label AI images or AI text from a creative project?
Only under conditions the tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop covers: since 2 August 2026, Article 50(4) of the EU AI Act, Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, requires disclosure of deep fakes, meaning AI images, audio or video that resemble existing persons, objects, places, entities or events and would falsely appear authentic (as of November 2026). In an evidently artistic, creative, satirical or fictional work, a disclosure that does not hamper the display is enough. Text is covered only when it is published to inform the public on matters of public interest, and not even then if a person reviewed or editorially controlled it and someone holds editorial responsibility for publication.
06How do I stop AI drafts from looking generic?
With fixed briefs instead of one-off prompts: a style guide for the AI records your brand's tone and style, and templates make recurring tasks repeatable. In the tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop you set up both and judge the results against them.
07Can I work on my own project in Creative AI Design?
Yes, the tecnovy Creative AI Design workshop closes with a transfer to a project of your own. Before that you solve creative challenges in small teams, then apply their approach to your own task.
08Is Creative AI Design a certification?
No, Creative AI Design is a tecnovy workshop with no examination, and it leads to no certification. With at least 80 percent attendance you receive the tecnovy certificate of participation, which confirms that you took part.
09Where do I go after Creative AI Design if I design in Figma?
To the tecnovy Claude for Designers workshop, where you connect the AI assistant Claude to Figma, generate UX copy and screen variants and check designs for consistency and accessibility. It assumes confident use of Figma.
